The Majority Forest
Growing our own forest
The Majority Forest is located all over the globe. Just one example of where we’re contributing to tree planting is in in south east Peru. We’re helping to fund the protection of 98,932 hectares of Amazonian rainforest.
Protection of this area will prevent 659,793 tonnes of CO2e from entering the atmosphere each year.
Reducing our carbon footprint
Not only are we planting thousands of trees, but in collaboration with Ecologi we’re also working to reduce our carbon footprint and emissions globally.
One example is the Santa Marta Landfill Gas Project, located in one of the most important landfills in the Santiago region of Chile – reducing greenhouse gas emissions by capturing, flaring and generating electricity from the methane gas (LFG) produced at the landfill.
Helping the earth & local communities
We’re also supporting local projects that help in other ways like working to provide clean energy through hydropower in Kanungu, Uganda.
The hydroelectric dam enables access to electricity for local communities within the area, providing both social and economic benefits.
Access to electricity is crucial for poverty alleviation, economic growth and improving living standards.
