I bought this Dab+ adapter for my home hifi setup. The tuner I had was fm only and severely limited by reception quality and channel options. A replacement hifi tuner with dab+ was eye wateringly expensive, and so Enter the Robinson as a stand in. The unit is discreet and simple to set up, with options for both fm and dab channels or dab+ alone. I have to say the initial set up with the provided dab aerial was a fail. Eighteen channels with poor reception or at best a hissing background. Simply remedied by purchasing an F type to co-axial converter plug for £2.and linking up my unused TV aerial. In minutes I had over 120 radio channels available through the tuner switch on my denon amp. The sound quality is first class on most stations and gives a great depth on pop and jazz stations. It really excels on the Classic Channels and gives a great field of tones throughout the orchestra , great bass and excellent vocal tones.
The unit operates through a simple remote hand set . The online instructions were a breeze to find and use.and the box itself is a neat and discrete addition to my hifi.
I initially found the constant clock display a little irritating, even when dimmed, but after two weeks use I barely notice it.
The channel list is easy to access and the priority listng facility is useful for quick selection of favourite channels.
I do miss the ‘now playing description’ as the unit is so small its just about readable.
Early days yet , but I’m honestly really impressed especially with the build quality and performance.
Perhaps the inclusion of an F to co-axial plug in the kit would help, but at the price of the unit at present a little over £60 I have no complaints.
All in a great addition to an existing hifi, and it earns my highest recommendation.
